THE ROLE
We are hiring an experienced Web Developer to create websites and applications, provide technical advice and project solutions, and oversee all technical support activities internally and for our non-profit and government clients across Canada, and internationally.
Location
Preference will be given to candidates located in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with project manager, creative lead and other personnel to create and deploy software solutions.
- Design client-side and server-side architecture.
- Build the front-end of applications.
- Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software as needed.
- Create internal and client-side security and data protection settings.
- Write technical documentation as needed.
- Enhance existing software programs.
- Provide internal technical support as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Ongoing relevant professional development is an asset.
Professional Experience:
- 3 – 5 years of professional full-stack development experience.
- Previous client-facing experience at consulting firm or agency is an asset.
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of platforms such as WordPress and Drupal.
- Proficient in HTML/CSS, JavaSCRIPT, XML.
- Experience developing and managing e-commerce websites.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
Attributes of the Web Developer:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong English verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes across all levels in the organization.
- English/French bilingual would be considered an asset, but is not necessary.

- Exceptional writing and other communications skills.
- Ability to easily understand and navigate online technologies.
