As a highly skilled nurse with over 15 years of experience, I am confident in my ability to assess clients throughout the life span, providing safe and ethical care for any type of client that presents to the health clinic or emergency department. I have always been passionate about providing excellent patient care and experiences in my previous positions; having also had the responsibility of orientating new staff to an emergency department or health clinic.
I currently work as the Nurse in Charge at Ogoki Post Health Clinic, a remote community located in northern Ontario. This experience has given me the opportunity to expand my assessment skills and scope of practice in a remote and isolated setting. This position has also put me in the role of preceptor to new staff, while also being responsible for chart audits to ensure policy compliance from other multidisciplinary team members.
I am committed to on-going education, keeping up to date on policy changes and reviews, as well as best practice guidelines; ensuring that I am fully competent in explaining up to date policy expectations to staff providing quality health care.
