My name is Joshua Neznik, my background is in Human Resources, with a Business Administration diploma specializing in Human Resources from Durham College. I have experience in HR administration, compliance, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and developing policies and procedures. In my HR role with Deighton Associates, I supported a wide range of HR functions, including maintaining confidential employee records, creating job descriptions and employment contracts, supporting compliance with employment legislation, and identifying gaps in organizational processes and developing policies, procedures, SOPs, and training materials to address them. I also gained experience with IRCC in a highly regulated, documentation-focused government environment, where accuracy, confidentiality, and following established requirements were essential. In addition, my experience in sales and customer service has strengthened my communication, problem-solving, and ability to work with different people and handle concerns professionally. Outside of my professional experience, I volunteer through my church and the Knights of Columbus, which has strengthened my commitment to service and helping others. What interests me about this opportunity with the College is the connection between my HR and compliance background and regulatory work, particularly conduct, complaints, documentation, and public protection. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring the skills I already have while continuing to learn the regulatory side of the profession.
