My candidacy offers a strong blend of Board Relations, Corporate Governance expertise, administrative tribunal knowledge, legal knowledge and practice, and experience gained in a professional regulatory organisation.
I have a Post-Graduate in Conflict Resolution, a Post-Graduate in Law, a Bachelor’s in Law and a Bachelor’s in Social Legislation.
The experience I can contribute in this position to mention a few are as follows:
- My current experience as a Supervisor of Board Operations in a Provincial Crown Agency and prior to that as a Corporate Governance Analyst in both a Crown Agency as well as in a professional regulatory body brings years of experience working directly with Boards in the Public Sector. Most recently, I have been instrumental in drafting General By-Laws and Conflict-of-Interest By-Laws in accordance with our governing legislation which were approved by the Board and received Ministerial approval.
- I have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation gained from legal training and experience through practising law.
- My experience in working with and supporting the activities of administrative statutory tribunals in a professional regulatory body where I prepared hearings-related documents, attended various committee meetings and tribunal proceedings, and drafted reasoned out decisions and reasons of the tribunals makes be a valuable addition to your team.
- I have excellent analytical skills derived from a legal and regulatory background coupled with excellent communication skills. I also have extensive experience working in a fast-paced front-facing client environment. My interpersonal skills coupled with my conflict resolution skills make it easy to work collaboratively across the board.
