I am a passionate public policy professional with a strong foundation in government relations, social policy, and community engagement. Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I specialize in creating impactful, inclusive policy initiatives that drive social change and promote the well-being of diverse groups.
With a background in policy analysis, regulatory compliance, and data privacy, I have had the privilege of working across various sectors including government, non-profit, and private industry. My journey has led me to work with a variety of stakeholders, from immigrants and marginalized groups to policymakers and local businesses, and this exposure has shaped my deep commitment to fostering equitable, inclusive communities.
I am particularly passionate about public policy that makes a positive social impact. My work with organizations like the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia has allowed me to directly engage with newcomers, advocating for their needs in areas such as affordable housing and healthcare. I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with government officials, businesses, and local communities to create solutions that address both systemic challenges and specific needs.
I bring a collaborative leadership style to everything I do, whether it’s managing a team, advocating for policy changes, or working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I believe that effective policy is born from meaningful consultation and dialogue with the people it’s meant to serve.
Outside of work, I am involved in various community initiatives, including coordinating the L’Arche Halifax Annual Art Show and Sale and supporting refugee sponsorship programs. I’m also an advocate for accessibility in education and continue to explore new ways to bridge the gaps in policy that impact marginalized and underrepresented groups. I enjoy a physically active lifestyle and constantly strive to explore new parts of Atlantic Canada, by foot or by kayak.
I’m always open to connecting with others who share a commitment to creating a more inclusive, socially responsible society. I'm happy to chat more about how my experiences have shaped by career outlook and professional goals.
