Position Purpose:
To coordinate the review and adjudication of exam accommodation requests for PEBC’s examinations to meet PEBC’s legal obligations and fulfill its human rights commitments while maintaining the integrity of its assessment processes. Coordinate the implementation of the multiple-choice examination accommodations and support the implementation of the performance examination accommodations. Oversee the development and updating of candidate resources.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and participate in the review and adjudication of candidate requests for exam accommodations to ensure fair access to PEBC’s assessments, in consultation with the Examination Development Project Lead and Assistant Registrar/Manager – Performance-based Examinations, and in collaboration with Candidate Accommodations Specialist, a PEBC Examination Assistant, Manager of Psychometrics, and external experts and legal consultants. Upon candidate acceptance, coordinate / support the implementation of the approved accommodations in collaboration with PEBC’s Examination Services Team Lead and Examination Administration Coordinator – Performance Examinations, Examination Centres’ Chief Administrator / Site Administrator, and PEBC’s computer-based testing provider’s team.
2. Oversee development and updating of resources to support positive exam experiences for all PEBC candidates, including documents related to exam day and rules of conduct as well as webinars, in collaboration with relevant PEBC staff.
3. In collaboration with the Senior Manager – Office Operations and HR and the Examination Services Team Lead, participate in policy and procedures review and development for CBT examination administrations.
4. Supervisory responsibilities related to the Candidate Accommodations Specialist and/or shared Examination Assistant resource.
Working Conditions:
1. Ability and stamina are needed to effectively work 7 hours per day (or more) at a desk, on computer. Available to work longer days (greater than 7 hours) as operational demands require.
2. Remote work class B – with attendance in office 2 to 3 days per week
3. Travel to examination centers and attendance at local meetings and workshops, including on weekends or evenings, may be occasionally required
4. Visual concentration in working with computers.
5. Overtime work as required or deemed necessary.
Required Qualifications:
1. University degree or educational equivalent to a Canadian bachelor’s degree, or higher
2. Expertise and experience in coordinating exam accommodations and/or the administration of high-stakes examinations is an asset
3. Expertise and experience in developing written and digital educational / training resources
4. Training, coaching, mentoring and supervision experience
5. Professional and personal integrity and accountability
6. Excellent communications skills: verbal, written and listening
7. Strong organizational and coordination skills
8. Experience as a team worker; works effectively with co-workers and clients of all backgrounds, in a collaborative, consultative manner
